FROM JAPAN TO YOUR KITCHEN

Born from CHEFLABO — a chef-led media, research and professional network in Japan. 50+ professional chefs.
Cheflabo / the WORLD connects that knowledge to kitchens around the world.

One chef / A network

One chef is a person.
A network is a capability.

Cheflabo / the WORLD gives restaurants and hospitality groups access to Japanese culinary expertise without depending on one full-time Japanese chef. We turn knowledge into recipes, operations and training systems that can cross borders.

02 / What is CHEFLABO

A media platform.
A research archive.
A network of working chefs.

CHEFLABO is a chef-led multidisciplinary media project from Japan. It publishes techniques and thinking that are often difficult to find in conventional cookbooks, records the results of testing and prototyping, and connects professional chefs through its members-only community, Chefs.labo.

現場で考え、試し、記録し、他者に渡せる形へ変える。
CHEFLABOは、料理人の実践知を「個人の経験」で終わらせないための長期的な取り組みです。

01

Media

Technical ideas, experiments and practical culinary thinking are published through CHEFLABO’s media channels.

02

Research

Testing and prototyping are documented so observations can become reusable knowledge — temperatures, processes, comparisons, failures and improvements.

03

Chefs.labo

A professional-chef community where working knowledge is shared across generations, genres and workplaces.

04

Implementation

Through FoodNiche, culinary knowledge becomes commercial menus, product development, kitchen operations and reproducible systems.

05

From Media to Real Space

CHEFLABO is expanding beyond media and community into a real restaurant project in Tokyo — continuing the same cycle of testing, sharing and implementation in a physical kitchen.

Technique becomes transferable when it becomes precise.

Heat, texture, moisture, timing and service flow are converted from individual intuition into something another kitchen can reproduce.

04

Japanese thinking, not a fixed idea of Japanese food.

Seasonality, restraint, ingredient respect and precision can be applied beyond traditional formats.

03 / Services

From one dish to a complete culinary system.

Our work begins with the dish, but it does not end there. Ingredients, equipment, staff level, preparation, service speed and food cost are part of the design.

04 / Network

Not one style.
A collective of specialists.

Different problems need different perspectives. Our network can assemble relevant expertise around each project instead of forcing every project through one chef.

07 / Origin — Japan

Rooted in Japan.
Built for the world.

食材だけではなく、料理人の知性を世界へ。

Japan is not decoration. It is the environment where the knowledge is developed: seasonality, ingredients, service culture, technique and the daily habits of professional kitchens.

Our role is to translate that context into something another kitchen can actually use.
